Oberkramer opens season with 9th-place finish at Springfield
Piloting his Premier Custom Homes No. 93 Super Late Model, Mason Oberkramer kicked off his 2025 campaign at Springfield (Missouri) Raceway over the weekend with the MLRA Founders Tribute.
The event, honoring 36 years of racing by the now-defunct MLRA sanctioning body, along with founders Randy Mooneyham and Kenny Essary, brought 28 Super Late Models to the quarter-mile track on Friday and 27 on Saturday.
Oberkramer finished sixth in his Friday heat race, then grabbed third in the B-Main to transfer into the 30-lap, $5,036-to-win feature. He started 19th in the main event and climbed 10 spots to come home ninth.
The next night, Oberkramer was runner-up in his heat, starting him sixth in the $10,036-to-win finale. However, he was forced out early in the 36-lapper and credited as finishing 19th.
