Oberkramer drives to Bad Boy 98 finale
Mason Oberkramer made his first starts in nearly a month on Friday and Saturday when he appeared at Locust Grove, Arkansas’ Batesville Motor Speedway for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Bad Boy 98.
With a $5,000 first-place prize up for grabs in Friday’s preliminary action, Oberkramer was among 43 CCSDS competitors in the pit area at the 3/8-mile track. He drove his Premier Flatwork No. 93 Super Late Model to ninth in his heat race and finished seventh in his B-Main, ending his night before the 30-lap feature.
On Saturday, 42 Super Late Models were at Batesville for the $12,000-to-win event finale, which saw Oberkramer just miss a transfer spot in his heat with a fifth-place finish. However, he won his B-Main from the pole and started 18th in the 68-lap main event.
With just over 20 circuits remaining, Oberkramer spun in turn two and ultimately recorded a DNF. He came home in the 23rd position.
