Oberkramer notches pair of CCSDS top-10 finishes in Missouri on Labor Day weekend
Coming off a victory last Friday at Poplar Bluff (Missouri) Motorsports Park, Show-Me State native Mason Oberkramer joined the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) for a trio of shows in Missouri over Labor Day weekend. He picked up one top-five and two top-10 finishes during the swing.
First up, the CCSDS schedule visited Wheatland’s Lucas Oil Speedway on Friday and Saturday for the 11th annual Ron Jenkins Memorial.
On Friday, the event opener brought 45 CCSDS competitors to the state-of-the-art 3/8-mile oval, including Oberkramer and his Premier Custom Homes No. 93 team. Oberkramer grabbed fourth in his heat and started 14th in the 30-lap, $7,000-to-win feature. He finished in the same position.
Saturday’s finale attracted 46 CCSDS Super Late Model teams looking to scure the $12,000 winner’s share. Oberkramer raced from sixth to fourth in his heat and started 14th in the main event for the second consecutive night. He marched forward nine positions in the 40-lapper and finished fifth behind Chris Simpson, Clay Stuckey, R.C. Whitwell and Cole Wells.
On Sunday, the tour moved to the quarter-mile Springfield Raceway for the $6,064-to-win Rex McCroskey Memorial, a program that featured 38 CCSDS entries. After a runner-up effort in his heat race, Oberkramer started sixth in the 31-lap feature. He also finished in the sixth spot.
